Grandma's Goodies with Jacqueline

Program Synopsis

GRANDMA'S GOODIES WITH JACQUELINE is a 30-minute show about food, family and traditions hosted by Jacqueline Clements.

Grandmothers are known for a lot of things and great food is at the top of the list, but you don’t learn everything from a recipe, you need to get your hands dirty and experience the stories behind the food. Join Jacqueline as she has other grandmothers from Okotoks visit her kitchen to share their favourite family recipe and talk about memories and traditions.

In this 6-episode series, Jacqueline learns to cook special family recipes that are being handed down to the next generation. But what is being handed down isn't just about a recipe and good food, it is about family traditions and values.

Jacqueline is joined by Donna who, like Jacqueline, does not consider the kitchen to be her “friend”. Donna shares how she is now famous for her “Saddledome” cake and “one-pan” cookies, baking that did not turn out as expected. In this episode, Donna is successful in showing Jacqueline how to make one of their family favourite snacks, “nuts and bolts”, which they package up in some Christmas tins and take to the local Seniors Club to share with the group enjoying an afternoon of cards.
